Unit 7118--GMC T6H 5305 (1970)--taken Oct. 31/97 about one month before this great old bus was sold, after my unsuccessful attempts to persuade the Transit Department to preserve it. This was the first "new look" purchased by the City of Red Deer, and had been in retirement for about 5 years when a vehicle shortage saw it return to revenue service, although on a limited basis.( It was also the first bus I drove when I began training at RDT.) I'm still kicking myself for not buying this one myself!

Unit 7116--GMC . . . and that's all I know about this one. I remember riding them to school as a kid, but they were long gone by the time I started at RDT.
CORRECTION:
Hi Bernie!
I got a model number for the bus I sent you. GMC Old Look 7116 is a 1968 TDH-3501 s/n 0058. A correction to the model year also for the New Look 7118 - it's a 1970 (s/n C524) not a '69 as i first stated.

Dec 02, 2011 | 8:31 amThank you Henry as you are apparently correct. Steve's original e-mail stated that the old look was a 1968 and I incorrectly assumed that he had mistyped and that it was a 1958. I will also make a correction from 3502 to a 3501.

Hi
I would like to correct the previous identification of this bus.
This bus has dual headlights and front trim of a1964 to 1968 tdh/tgh 3501. Records show use of this bus at RDT.
In any case it is not a 1958 Gm 3502. They only 181 units were made, from 1968 to 1969 built. No records of Gm 3502 used at RDT.
