MCI MC-7 bus

Hi, Bernie - Enclosed is a photo of a Greyhound MC-7 parked at San Luis Obispo, California. From the paint scheme and the fact that there are two MC-7s, I must have taken this picture in the late 70s-early 80s. San Luis Obispo is along the Greyhound coast route in California, and is located about half way between San Francisco and Los Angeles. As a side note, 16 or so MC-6s (I wish I had taken photos of those!) served the U.S. 101 route between San Francisco and LA. One of the MC-6s, if I recall right it was perhaps fleet number 7311, was in service long enough to be repainted in the "stripes over the roof" color scheme. My dad was a Greyhound driver, and drove everything from Silversides, 4104s , MC-6's to 96A's and everything in between between SF and LA. I hope you find this photo of interest!

I would love to find a toy die cast model of the MC7 with the "stripes over the top" color scheme. So far, I haven't been able to locate one. Any suggestions?

I drove MC-7s, all 1970 models, just like this, minus the flourscent lighting and the external A/C connection. Greyhound took a large order in 1970 for these, all four speed Spicers. The next big batch, in 1972, all had Allisons. Although the MC-7 only lasted for four years, it was a good model, and was a better overall coach than a 4905. The drawback versus the "buffalo" was less luggage bay room, but it was adequate. An MC-7 would take any 4905 on a grade, any day.
