Bryan mailed me some pictures of classic GMs (and one Flxible) which brought back many memories for me.
The above is a 1957 GM TDH5106-1326. Ex-Interstate Transit of Babylon (Long Island), NY then to Valley Transit of Appleton, WI. Byran purchased this bus five years ago and is being restored into Baltimore Transit livery. He says the bus still rides like new with no rattles what so ever.
Update Dec. 2005 from Jeff Schoen: This bus was sold to Jeff Schoen of Fort Lauderdale, Florida in Dec 2003. It is being restored at Charlotte RV, in Charlotte Harbor, Florida. The bus is being painted mint green to match retro south Florida transit companies. It is being maintained as a passenger bus, not an RV.

My father drove this type of city bus in Bloomington, IL but his was the short version, perhaps a 25' or 35'length. Seems his only had one side door up front. Did either length have a rear side door like the 40' versions?
