Jul 01, 2010 | 5:15 pmI AM LOOKING FOR ANYONE WHO DROVE FOR CONTINENTAL TRAILWAYS. MY GRANDFATHER, CARROLL "GROUCH" ABLES, DROVE OUT OF DALLAS FOR 40 YEARS UNTIL HE RETIRED. HE WAS CALLED "GROUCH" (LOVELY MAN LOL) BECAUSE HE WAS SO STRICT ABOUT THE RULES ON HIS BUS!
I HAD A 2 MILLION MILE SAFE DRIVING PIN OF HIS SOMEONE STOLE. I SO DESPERATELY WOULD LIKE ANOTHER. IT WAS MY GOOD LUCK CHARM, I KNOW IT'S NOT THE SAME. I FEEL LOST WITHOUT IT.
I WOULD LOVE TO CORRESPOND WITH ANYONE WHO DROVE BUSES AND COULD TELL ME STORIES.

Jul 01, 2010 | 5:16 pmDana, You said you have 3 Golden Eagle Buses. Do you have any pictures of your golden eagle buses and what condition is the one bus you said was in bad condition? Is it feasible to restore it? I have been looking for a golden eagle bus.

Jul 01, 2010 | 5:17 pmHello.
I have a request. I'm looking for a photo or photos of the "Back" of the last version of the Eagle O-1 (mid 1960s?). This is the one that had the 3-piece back window and was the version just before the O-5 was introduced. There are many photos on the web of the front, roof, and sides of later model O-1s, but I can't find a single photo of the back. My intention is to build a scale model of this particular O-1 and want to get the backside correct.
Thank you so much. - A

Jul 01, 2010 | 5:17 pmJoe,
If you click on the link you will see our Eagle. We would not sell any of them. Like I said we have three Articulated Golden Eagles and we just purchased a 1957 40 foot Golden Eagle that we are restoring. If there is a way to get your email i would love to show you some pictures.

Jul 01, 2010 | 5:19 pmDane, would you be willing to take photos of your 40ft eagle, please, and post it. ? I'm particularly interested of the back view of the bus. I can give you my email address if you're o.k with it. I'm also in the process of getting a gentleman that owns a scale model resin casting company intersted in reproducing scale model Eagles.
DWilson, thank you. I've looked through that link before and, amazingly, can't find a single back shot of the late production Model 0-1.

Jul 01, 2010 | 5:24 pmThe Wilson Bus Co. out of Templeton MA had a Golden Eagle as of a few years ago. It was on display at an air show at the Fitchburg MA airport. Looked to be in great shape.

Sep 10, 2011 | 7:21 amLisa my dad drove for Trailways for
25 years. His name was David "Coach".
He was called Coach. I have several
his safety pins and I even have his hat.
He met my mom working for Trailways.
She was a hostess on one of the busses.
My dad was on photographed for an
advertisement once on a poster with
a hostess. I would give anything to have
a copy of that poster. Betsy

Sep 23, 2011 | 8:49 pmThis message is for Lisa Kelly, if someone there can get it to her. Lisa, I drove for Continental Trailways in the early 1970's. It was the GREATEST job in the world. Even though I was assigned to the Extra Board" and was subject to be sent anywhere, I generally drove between Washington DC and New York City. I would love to hear from you if you get this . Take Care. Roger

I read somwhere that articulated Eagles were rare puppies in of itself. Do you know what Trailways did with this coach upon retirement? I know AC Transit had one for a short time.
