You may not believe this, but I work for a Company that refurbishes fishbowl buses to be put back in service. This company has done several for Strathcona County for the city of Sherwood Park Alberta Canada and we are presently finishing the second bus for Fort Mcurray Alberta. Since I started with the company last Aug. I have completed one bus from start to finnish. It is quite a procedure and the bus does look really good inside and out when we are finnished. Unfortunately I have no pictures of a completed bus as I was sick the last two days of completion and the bus has been delivered to Fort Mcmurry.

Hi Bernard: Here are some more pictures. Below: Drivers side with floor and dashboard removed.

Here's a fishbowl in the shop awaiting work.

Below: In front of engine compartment with floor removed, we replace all these parts you see here.

Front of bus with floor removed note the drivers pedestal. We replace all the beams around the front end. and replace all suspension parts.

Not a clear picture but shows the front with all the walls off. We replace the skirts, ribs and the banners up to the window. The shear plate for the floor over the rear diff is laying against the front of bus.

Here is the bus ready to go to the paint shop to be painted inside and out.The engine is back in and we drive it to the paint shop about 10 blocks away from our shop.

Note that we spray inside the walls with Styrofoam instead of putting back the Fiberglas installation. The wheel wells have a boxlinner rubber coating on them . All new plywood floor accept for the mid section over the air filtering system.

Bernard: I sure wish I had pictures of the finished product but I don't. I have learned a lot about buses and have come to appreciate the interest people have in them.

YOUR COMMENTS

Is this facility still in business what is the address and phone number? I'd be interested in having a New Look Suburban rebuilt when the time comes. Thanks in advance.
