1960 General Motors GM TDH4517 Fishbowl - Delaware Coach Company

I was born in 1957, in Wilmington, Delaware. One of my earliest memories was riding the bus into the city with my mother. Today I live in Elsmere, Delaware one of it's suburbs. At that time our bus company was called the Delaware Coach Company, which later was taken over by the State of Delaware, which renamed it to DART - Delaware Authority for Regional Transit. It is now called DART FIRST STATE.

I am attaching a picture of BUS # 765, which as you can tell is a GM TDH4517, 6 cylinder diesel/Hydraulic transmission, which was produced 06/60 and delivered to the Delaware Coach Company circa 7/60. It is no longer in service I'm sad to say. DART FIRST STATE has since changed their color scheme.

I hope you like the picture, I really liked this color scheme since it was the colors of our state flag.

Feel free to vist my website, sorry it's a political website not a bus site, but I'm thinking of starting one!regards,

John Pasquale

    John,

I grew up in Colonial Heights on South Cleveland Ave. I remember the busses going past the house on their routes. Thanks for posting the picture. Brings back memories.
