Hi Bernie,
I love your website and am really fond of old buses, especially the ones that ran through Bergen County, NJ, where I grew up.
Q. When is a GM "Old Look" not a GM "Old look"?
A. When it's a ZIS-154. This bus was made in Russia by the Factory Named for Stalin (ZIS), from 1947-50 with 1164 units built. They were Diesel-electric with a 4.65 liter, 4 cyl. Engine (equivalent to D.D. 4-71), and had 34 seats. They look remarkably like GM with only detail differences.
These are the only pictures I could find of this vehicle and I do not know any more about its origins. If anyone out there can help, please do.
Regards,
