My hometown had about 6 of these which they operated for about 25 years, eventually replacing the original engines with Cummins diesels. They must have been terrifc buses. I don't know what the orignal engines were, but they sounded like straight eights.

We had 3 Ftiz John's 1952 transit models with Buick V8s. They were a very heavy bus.The 3 bus devlepoled cracks in the medal across the roofs and floors at the read doors. We traded them for GM tranist buses in 1995
