GM Model PG 3302

Produced for the U.S. Army in the 1950s this very unusual coach was a cross between the old PD 2904 body and the transit model TGH 3102. Most major U.S. Army installations had some of these in service for troop movements.

I've noticed this old bus for years.  I finally had my camera and some spare time.  I didn't know it was an old Army bus.  I just liked the classic lines.  I have a few pics but not of the interior.  There is a stenciled sign on above the back seat (still there) that says "Don't discuss classified information" or something very close to that.

It looks like there is a compartment for a mechanic to ride by the engine.  It has a door and a window.  Also access to the motor.  There are a few seat frames inside, no glass, a few bullet holes, sand and rats nests.  But it's still very cool.

Besides the bullet holes, the body looks very sound.  I'll bet the frame is fine.  The front axle is there but one spring has been liberated.  It's easy to imagine a bunch of soldiers heading for the train station or an airfield filling those seats.

Thought you'd like to see.

Thank you for sharing Dan! Another candidate for "Hemmings Abandoned Vehicle" pic! If only this bus could talk, it would have stories to tell I imagine!

It is a old Army bus. This one is number 950 I drove number 342 in 1958/59
from Fort Ord to Camp Roberts each day.
It has about 44 seats and a rear six cly
gas engine.
It had little room in the back around the engine for luggage, with a small door curbside.
